Our Story

We love great coffee, but hated the pile of empty non-recyclable bags it left behind. As new parents, the plastic waste felt like a debt we were leaving behind for our son to pay.

The Name

Browndog Coffee Roasters is named after our loyal Boxweiler, Bruno --- a big, brown coated best friend we affectionately called "Brown Dog". He was our faithful companion through the early garage-roasting days, inspiring the warmth, loyalty, and joy the family wanted every cup to deliver.

Why zero waste is so important to Browndog

Zero waste matters deeply to BrownDog Coffee Roasters because it’s personal: founder's Victoria and Fernando young son—and the future he’ll inherit—inspired the refusal to add to single use plastic pollution.

By the way, disposable bags pile up for centuries, harming oceans, soil and beyond. We wanted to make a better choice so we opted to use reusable glass bottles - a little more expensive but worth for the cause.

And that’s why Reduce | Reuse | Refill exists—reusable UV-protective glass bottles replace bags entirely. Customers refill endlessly, cutting waste while keeping beans fresher.
